— UNDERSTANDING THE TRAUMA OF FALLING

The sudden impact of a fall can overwhelm the nervous system

A physical fall happens in a split second, yet the body's protective reflexes often remain caught in incomplete action. Long after physical injuries heal, the nervous system can stay trapped in hypervigilance, posture bracing, and constant fear of losing balance.

Fall Prevention

Somatic Experiencing guides the body to safely discharge frozen kinetic energy, allowing interrupted self-protective motor responses to gently complete.

Rebuilding sensory connection to gravity and surrounding space restores innate proprioception, reducing feeling lightheaded or unsteady on your feet.

By releasing chronic muscular contraction and anxiety, your body recovers fluid movement adjustments and natural postural confidence.

Helping the body rediscover a sense of support

A fall can trigger an extremely rapid survival response as the body instinctively braces or attempts to protect itself from impact. Sometimes aspects of that response can remain after the immediate danger has passed. Somatic Experiencing allows us to gently explore these responses and support the nervous system in finding greater regulation.
